Walkinstown
Situated in the postal code D12, Walkinstown (Baile Bhailcín) is in the Southwest area of Dublin city and is bordered by Crumlin, Drimnagh, Clondalkin, Tallaght and Bluebell. Much of the building in this area took place between the 50’s and the 70’s and the are has many long-standing local amenities such as the Ashleaf Shopping Center or the famous Submarine bar.
At the centre of the area is Walkinstown Cross, a large junction which serves seven major local roads leading in all directions. The area is very well served by many Dublin bus routes which include the 18, 19A, 77, 77A, 56A, 50, and the 123.
The area has numerous highly regarded schools including St. Paul's and St Peter’s boys schools and the Assumption girls secondary school.
The Walkinstown area also includes Greenhills and part of Ballymount.
